"For the past 18 years, wheelchair basketball has been a way of life for me. Always evolving to be the very best I can be, I make sacrifices every day in order to play at the highest level."
When I was 19 years old, I met a player from the Bilbao team and he invited me to try it out. I got hooked from day one and I still am. I've always liked all sports and practiced many of them, but as soon as I got to know about wheelchair basketball, I knew that this was the sport for me. It's a very fast and spectacular sport with lots of contact. Plus I've always preferred team to individual sports.
Basketball has been my way of life for 18 years. I dedicate most of my time to sports and thanks to them, I met who is my wife now. My day to day revolves around sport, and I hope it remains that way for many years.
In 1994, I had a train accident, so I had several sequelae in the lower extremities. After many interventions and spending two years in a wheelchair and doing rehabilitation, I managed to walk again. Nowadays, except for long distances or trips, I do not use a wheelchair every day.
