Over 40 years of innovation.

For decades, Sunrise Medical has created breakthrough innovations that have improved people's lives all over the world.

1980
The Original QUICKIE

An icon is born. The original QUICKIE revolutionized wheelchairs with an innovative frame design inspired by the hang-gliding industry. Ultra-lightweight, responsive and colorful, its impact was so big that the chair is featured in the 'History of Disability' at the National Museum of American History.

1984
Original QUICKIE 2

With the introduction of its first modular frame, the unique QUICKIE 2 could easily grow in length and width, or be modified by merely changing components. Offering the broadest range of possible configurations in the industry, the QUICKIE 2 still leads the industry in modular design 30 years later!

1992
QUICKIE P200 Powerchair

The QUICKIE P200, dubbed the "Ferrari of wheelchairs" by Popular Mechanics magazine, could sprint more than 25% faster than ordinary powerchairs. Its patented QUICKIE Turbo Controller featured an energy reserve that gave the powerchair a burst of power for quick acceleration.

1992
QUICKIE Carbon

Our first carbon-fiber wheelchair, the QUICKIE Carbon weighed just 19 pounds - setting the industry standard at the time for weight-to-strength efficiency in wheelchairs.

1993
QUICKIE 2 HP Titanium

Our first titanium folding wheelchair, the QUICKIE 2 HP Titanium weighed just 21 pounds, making it the lightest folding wheelchair available at the time.

1996
F60 Powerchair

A breakthrough in powerchair technology, the F60 had a patented 'Active Castor Control System' system that held its rear castors in a straight-line when driving forwards and also acted like a 4-wheel-steer system, allowing it to rotate on its own axis.

1997
QUICKIE F55

The latest 3D design technology at the time created a whole new breed of powerchair with the QUICKIE F55. Ground breaking in its looks and performance, the F55 set the standard for powerchair design for the next decade.

1999
QUICKIE XTR Wheelchair

The QUICKIE XTR, winner of Business Week's Industrial Design Excellence award, was the industry's first monoshock suspension wheelchair.

2003
QUICKIE IRIS

Thanks to its rotation-in-space technology, the QUICKIE IRIS rotates the seat frame around the user's center-of-gravity instead of tilting the seat frame from an outside pivot-point. So the tilting motion is smoother, easier to control and allows for the shortest possible wheelbase for easy maneuverability.

2010
QUICKIE Helium

The QUICKIE Helium encompassed the latest in cycling and automotive racing technologies. Our first wheelchair frame to use hydroforming technology, the Helium was the lightest adult active wheelchair, weighing just under 6.5 kg.

2012
SpiderTrac Suspension

The revolutionary SpiderTrac suspension on the QUICKIE JIVE-M introduced independent movement of all six wheels, giving the front and rear wheels the ability to crawl up and down steep obstacles while keeping all six wheels to the ground.

2015
QUICKIE Salsa M2 Mini

Bigger isn't always better - the QUICKIE Salsa M2 Mini became the narrowest mid-wheel-drive powerchair in the world, measuring at just 520 mm in width.

2016
Biometric Repositioning

The patented Biometric Repositioning introduced with the SEDEO ERGO seating system keeps your seated posture correct whilst moving out of a reclined position. The system passes through an intermediary tilted position, using gravity to realign your pelvis in one smooth, effortless motion.

2016
Anti-Sheer Mechanism

The unique Biomechanical Anti-Shear Back introduced on the SEDEO ERGO seating system reduces friction between the user’s back and the backrest to prevent skin breakdown. It also allows the headrest, head and even chin control to maintain the correct position during backrest recline.

2018
Link-It Mounting System

Say goodbye to problematic control mounting! The innovative Link-It Mounting System made mounting additional switches or special controls to your powerchair easy. Just use a combination of modules and rods to create the cominbation you need to mount the device.

2022
RGK Veypr Sub4

The RGK Veypr Sub4 is our lightest wheelchair yet, where made to measure meets carbon fibre. With new pioneering technology we have produced the worlds first truly made to measure carbon fibre wheelchair.

2023
QUICKIE QS5 X

Thanks to the innovative FreeFold mechanism, the QUICKIE QS5 X requires more than 40% less force to fold than other folding wheelchairs in the market, setting the new standard for ease and efficiency of folding.
